  • GOAL SETTING

    Goal setting is a powerful way to create a vision and provide purpose. Establishing clear, workable goals allows for greater likelihood of achieving  personal success. Goal setting helps people create a plan that focuses energy towards areas of true personal interest.

    •   Workshop objective: To inspire people to take an active role in their lives.
    •   Target Audience: General population, teens, student, athletes and others. Ideally suited for people at a crossroad in their lives, such as senior high school and vocational students,  women’s shelters, treatment centres, and others.

     

     

  • PERSONAL BUDGETING

    Understanding personal finances is an important component to making cumulative decisions towards financial freedom.

    The workshop includes planning personal finances or budgeting, how to reduce debt, how to improving credit rating, and the personal financial components to being a Status Indian. Looking into spending habits and how they might be changes to  help achieve financial freedom.

    •   Workshop objective: To empower people to take charge of their financial well-being.
    •   Target Audience: General population, family heads, teens, and senior high school and vocational students.

     

     

  • PERSONAL BUDGETING FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP

    Personal budgeting for entrepreneurship is about diversifying, diversifying and putting your money in the right places to help achieve business goals. The workshop takes entrepreneurs through a careful assessment of their business idea, and takes them through an exercise of breaking down their project into incremental phases that are matched with personal financial realities. In addition, participants are introduced to the bookkeeping requirements for a startup.

    •   Workshop objective: To ensure financial readiness of entrepreneurs.
    •   Target Audience: Entrepreneurs seeking to start a business.

     

     

  • APTITUDE EXPLORATION

    Brings participants on a journey of exploring character traits, personality and learning types. Aptitude exploration is a dynamic session for building awareness and gathering tools to create an actionable plan to achieve education and career goals.

    •   Workshop objective: To initiate an education or career pathway for young and mature adults.
    •   Target Audience: Teens, students, women’s shelters, treatment centres, and others. Ideally suited for senior high school and vocational students,  women’s shelters, treatment centres, and others.

     

     

  • MARKETING YOUR BUSINESS

    Having a business on-reserve does present a uniqueness, and marketing your business is no exception. To ensure that a business is effectively communicating to its target market, it requires consistency and relevancy, something that can be found in a marketing plan. The workshop is about developing a marketing plan for your business. It presents an overview of the importance of branding and positioning your product(s) or service(s) and presents various components to developing an ideal marketing strategy.

    •   Workshop objective: To promote in-house marketing activities for business.
    •   Target Audience: Entrepreneurs, and small business owners.

     

     

  • WORK ETHICS

    Work ethics are an essential component to career development. Developing values based on hard work and diligence enhances character. Taking pleasure and pride in the job you do and the organization you work for affects the bottom line of how your community evolves. The workshop teaches about the value of embodying the right works principles that results to the production of high-quality work whether it is in school are on the job.

    •   Workshop objective: To introduce the principles of good work ethics, and to promote the value in possessing such ethics.

The objective of SKY’s workshops is to empower community members one person at time a time as a means of contributing to First Nations community development. Community development, where community members come together to take collective action to generate solutions to common problems is something we are seeing in First Nations communities. Community development ranges in scale of initiatives that are overarched by a larger community objective. Communities that are taking a lead on tackling local issues, through a communal vision are using innovative strategies to help their communities. SKY’s workshops go hand-in-hand with its service: Community Economic Development planning.
